2015 Jul – Marine Electronics & Communications – Carnival & Italian Navy trial people tracking system
Carnival Corp and the Italian Navy are interested in deploying people tracking technology developed during the Europe-wide research project MonaLisa 2.0. They attended a live demonstration of the Martec people tracking system in Milan, Italy on June 23. Since then Martec, a partner in MonaLisa 2.0, has demonstrated the system on the cruise ship Ruby Princess in Alaska. The technology enables a rapid response to ship emergencies in terms of a quick automatic detection of the crew presence in sensitive areas.
