Port of Gävle

Strategically located just north of Stockholm and right next to the industrial Central Sweden region, Port of Gävle is a natural east coast hub for import and export. Large ships can dock efficiently in the port for quick loading and unloading at our container terminal, bulk terminal, kombi terminal and energy terminal. Port of Gävle is located only two hours from Stockholm. First-class road and rail connections, with comparably little traffic and queues, make it easy for goods owners in Stockholm and Mid Sweden to export and import via Port of Gävle.
In the EfficientFlow project we are implementing STM in the port in the Port Flow optimization activity. We are also overseeing local rules and regulations to enable just-in-time port calls and operations.

Port of Rauma

In business, location is everything. The ideal location of Rauma is based on many factors. Active sea traffic and good land connections ensure that the whole world can be reached through the port of Rauma. Feeder traffic inside Finland is efficient, and good rail and road connections make particularly the areas of Satakunta, Pirkanmaa, Central Finland and Ostrobothnia easy to reach from Rauma. There is also plenty of heated storage space as well as versatile business facilities available in Rauma at reasonable costs. As port authority, the Port of Rauma is in charge of maintaining the port infrastructure.
In the EfficientFlow project we are implementing STM in the port in the Port Flow optimization activity. We have a special focus on the hinterland connections.

The European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) is the first macro-regional strategy in Europe. It aims at reinforcing cooperation within this large region in order to face several challenges by working together as well as promoting a more balanced development in the area. The Strategy also contributes to major EU policies and reinforces the integration within the area.

The overall goal of the Policy Area on Maritime Safety and Security or PA Safe, as it is abbreviated, is for the Baltic Sea Region “to become a leading region in maritime safety and security”.
