The largest European transport research event has been Corona-cancelled . So you won't have the opportunity to meet the STM projects at the expo or during the sessions. However, you might want to get a deeper feel for STM and its progress by reading some of the accepted papers for the conference.

STM Validation project – Sea Traffic Management connects and updates the maritime world in real time, with efficient information exchange.Through data exchange among selected parties such as ships, service providers and shipping companies, STM is creating a new paradigm for maritime information sharing offering tomorrow´s digital infrastructure for shipping.

  • An overview of the results and how standardized information sharing impacts maritime safety, efficiency and environment.
  • Digging into the financial and social impacts
  • Introducing VESSL a new tool for macro-analyses at European level with project results using Short Sea Shipping data mining.

EfficientFlow – In the project, the Baltic ports of Rauma and Gävle implement efficient port calls using real-time information. Improved traffic flow converts unsafe waiting times into bunker savings for large ships in the narrow Swedish and Finnish archipelagos.

STM BALT SAFE – Making the Baltic Sea even safer by improving the situational awareness on ships and shore, building tools that automate work and provide decision support to prevent risk situations ad accidents,
