Register for the MONALISA 2.0 conference in Barcelona 4-5 November

Published: October 12, 2014

Italy, the current EU Presidency of the EU Council, represented by Enrico Maria Pujia, Director General for Port Authorities Monitoring, Port Infrastructure and Maritime and Inland Waterways Transport, will give a keynote presentation on the EU vision for the maritime transport future.

The official opening of the European Maritime Simulator Network is just one of many reasons to participate in the Barcelona Mid-term Conference of the MONALISA 2.0 project on November 4-5. Set as a corner stone in the European strategy for maritime transport, Motorways of the Seas, MONALISA 2.0 will present the achievements from a busy first year. You will have plenty of time to meet the experts, discuss your ideas and concerns, and perhaps influence the future of the industry.

The project has investigated how to bring different proven land-based technologies to sea, to enhance safety. The operational safety in coastal waters and ports has also been studied. How can we handle mass-evacuations in the best possible manner, and how can we best avoid the need for evacuation? The project has also introduced the concept Sea Traffic Management. Information sharing in intelligent ways facilitates new services to vessels, shipping companies and ports, and all other parties involved today. The result is a much safer sea voyage and increased efficiency in the whole logistic chain saving money and helping the environment simultaneously.

Do you feel intrigued? See the agenda and logistic details which will help you get there!
