RTF on International conference “Digital Transport Days”

RTF on International conference “Digital Transport Days”

Published: October 18, 2019

During the event “Digital Transport Days” that was held on 7-9 October in Helsinki, RTF project was represented by one member of the project research group Juergen Ross from VBB Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (Germany).

The Real Time Ferries project was presented during the first day of the event in Session: “Towards dynamic multimodal travel information services”.

Main topic of this session was the status of implementing the delegated Regulation 2017/1926 from the point of view of: the Commission; two member States (AT and DE);  industry. The industry and member states, during presentations and a panel discussion have focused their attention on current achievements and points that still need to be considered about the Regulation. One of such considerations is especially the need of further specifications of the European standard interfaces NeTEx, SIRI and OJP. By now only first steps have been done, more deep specifications are important for all projects which will make use of these interfaces in the future.

RTF project is the first transnational project making use of extended EU-Spirit and all three standard interfaces as a pilot implementation. In so far it is of special interest, not only for the RTF project consortium partners, but it is also on the European level. The conference was an excellent opportunity to give brief information about the Real Time Ferries project, the status on current project activities and first experiences from its achievements.
