Engineers are also looking for services – COMPIT
Thinking that STM was already in Place, a ship-hull painting company wanted to monitor where their paints were used and how they fared in different waters. A fleet maintenance firm directly saw potential to complement their portfolio and meet recent customer demand. And there was a ship administration company who wanted to know where they could register their services.
Anders Dalén, Viktoria Swedish ICT, presented the methodology of developing the Sea Traffic Management concept at the COMPIT conference in Lecce, Italy.
STM was well received at Lecce and the COMPIT ’16 conference in May. Diverse participants from ship building to big data proposed new services that would be possible if STM was implemented. The many ideas really show that we’re definitely on to something here!
