STM Courtesy Call on the Secretary General of the IMO

STM Senior Adviser Gurpreet Singhota visited IMO Headquarters and paid a call to Secretary General Kitack Lim. There was time for a short brief on STM, the STM Validation project and the Final Conference in London next year.

Next year,  during the period November 13-14, 2018, the STM Validation Project will have its Final Conference in London at the Headquarters of the International Maritime Organization. In preparation of this event, Gurpreet Singhota, Senior Adviser for the Project paid a Courtesy Call on the Secretary General of the IMO, Mr. Kitack Lim in London on 01 November 2017.

Mr. Singhota describes the meeting as follows: “I briefed him on the modalities of the STM and our on-going Validation project, the biggest e-Navigation test-bed ever established.  I further explained that the Project has also common linkages with four of the five prioritised e-navigation solutions of IMO’s Strategy Implementation Plan (SIP) for e-navigation and it was our intention to share the results of the Project test beds with IMO through the Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications, Search and Rescue (NCSR) and the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC). A copy of the STM Project Brochure was also handed over to him. He expressed his interest and wished us the best of luck.”
