The EfficientFlow project has finalised the activity regarding the ports. All actors in the ports of Gävle and Rauma are now using a Port Activity App to share real-time port call information. Port planning is even easier for ships with route exchange capabilities.
Port activity app is a digital solution to share information that will be implemented in port of Gävle during 2020. Gävle Hamn AB, the port authority, is at full speed to implement a test version with a small group of key partners.
Sixtyfour users are currently sharing and getting real-time time tables for port calls. Users are representing the many aspects of the port call: terminals, tugs, pilots, agents, port authority, mooring personnel, captains and even the local shipbuilding company.
By exchanging the planned route and schedule, officers and pilots on-board ships, can get accurate calculations of meeting points with and over-takings of and by other ships well in advance. Speed adjustments and in some cases route adjustments help make these meetings safer. At the same time, the ships can sail at a more even speed, thus saving fuel and reducing emissions
